- Format and copy of ALADIN and SPECTRE discs by M. SARO
-
- This program has been placed in the Public Domain with the hope that you
- will find it useful, but he cannot offer any guarantee as to its reliability
- (use it at your own risk). The program was developed using SOZOBON C running
- under GULAM. It does not carry a version number, only a production date.
-
- The author uses ALADIN version 3.xx for outputting documents on the SLM804
- laser printer at 300 dpi, and its internal RAM disc which is conserved under
- GEM. SPECTRE version 2.65C is used for its ease of reading MAC (GCR) discs.
- This program provides a useful link between these two emulators, but runs
- without them.
-
- __Use:
-
- *** You must know which type of disc is to be copied or formatted ***
-
- Start the proram under GEM.
- Click on the parameters to be changed in the central frame.
- (Note that HFS-MFS is only used during formatting)
- Choose the operation to be performed in the bottom frame.
-
- __Changing language: (French-English)
-
- While running: click on 'information' in the upper frame, then chose the
- required language from the following window.
-
- By default: the byte at offset $1F of the program can be patched to give
- the required language: even value = French, odd value =
- English.
-
- Running requirements:
-
- ALASPEC needs 250K to run and will one or two drives.
-
- When copying, if there is sufficient RAM available to contain a complete
- image of the source disc, then the program will offer the possibility of
- making multiple copies of the same disc.
-
- No verification is made as to the type or the contents of the disc being
- copied/converted, nor is the destination checked for consistancy.
-
- The author would like to thank his friends: Yves LAGARDE for his comments
- after testing, and Paul DAGLEISH (that's me) for his suggestions and the
- English translations (my pleasure).
